movies and friendliesmovie monday !
i woke up to kungfuuu panda cos my bro was like watching it on the com right beside me rather softly in the early morning
it's wow, there's really cool animation and sounds and it's a rather hilarious movie
i'm going to watch it again some time after blocks xD
po's training for food ftw haha
hmmm, what if there's kungfu ultimate? playing ultimate with kungfu moves just like uhhhh shaolin soccer or something. how cool will that be? =OO
alright, that's crap -___-
anyway, i've been thinking about the movie and somehow i related it to ultimate.
some people may not look like much of a good player, but you'll never know until you give him a chance to shine. denying the individual that chance may not only be putting his potential to waste, but also changing his interest towards the game at the same time =/ that may very well be the first step to stopping him from becoming who he can be. you'll never know till you let everyone have a try at becoming a good player, becoming part of the team. those who are better shouldn't shadow their weaker peers while training together as well, i feel that'll be limiting their space to improve together as a whole. and lastly, everyone has different training styles which is most suited to themselves.
oh, and there's NOTHING, no secrets to being the best. no shortcuts no nothing, it's all hardwork and determination from how i see it =]
caught this at cine in the evening together with eld and xj, well, it's another one of those weird times when a few guys go out together to catch a romance movie haha. just like how four guys went to watch leaps years back in march. well, it's sorta a half comedy-half romance movie, but yeah, it's still about relationships.
the earlier part of the movie in vegas is totally retarded haha. you'll never expect to find yourself in a situation like they did.
liking someone is about liking who they are, nothing more. it's isn't about who you expect them to be, how you want them to behave or having he/she to like you back the way you feel that that should. be yourself and nothing else.
it'll be too late to realize that once you've lost that special someone to you, things do not always happen the same way twice.
it'll be good if we take a step back and look at our lives in a different view, probably from a third person perspective. perhaps, we'll only realize how happy our lives may really be and it's not as bummed as we think at times =]
ultimate friendlies on tuesday morning against ACJC
hc ultimate's first match against someone besides ourselves haha
i believe that it's a great experience for all of us, even for people at the sidelines almost all the time haha
going up against a team stronger than us is just thrilling haha, even if it was just a point for me
at least we did get to watch all three matches and learnt as much as we could from the different forms of plays and yeah, go "WOW" of cos
there's quite a number of great dives for the discs every now and then, finally, we're starting to go for it haha
no more diving only on high jump mats =O
personally, i think that the bottom line is to have all the fun you can have. winning isn't exactly everything haha.
will you be happy even if you win when everything in the game was screwed up for you and you did not enjoy the game, not that little bit of it?

spar spar sparex '08 !sparex '08 was intensive, was strenuous, was enjoyable, was beneficial, was FUN
ntu training is extremely shiok haha. finally got to try nanyang house =O
have heard of it from zhihao from a lonnnnng time ago but it was only till last friday when i finally got to try it xD
there's 117.5 steps up nanyang house according to my GL, so two rounds will be 335 steps ! .___.
and the whole training was supposedly relax already
we really should start training dynamic kicks back in school instead of the standard routine kicks on stationary targets =//
it helps like a whole lot, training accuracy, reaction time and stamina all at once, yupyup
and i really admire shifu's speeches, really motivational and it makes ntu training more of a must in future !
it's about the training mentality and attitude and the sky's the limit =]
or maybe not haha, there're footsteps on the moon too =OO
saturday workshops were really useful too, kinda reinforces the sparring skills we've picked up from the j3 seniors who've trained us previously
there's the addition of courtcraft,
- awareness of your space and surroundings, making use of it to your advantage and not be placed in a tight spot by your opponents
and Mental Strength Training,
- psychological preparation and tool to aid development
parts of that session became a sleeping break for some though =X
it's kinda interesting listening to the whole mst thingy haha
traffic light, overhead bridge and jay-walking, which method do you choose?
these are a couple of things that can be applied in every other aspects of life too
and the last day came, sparring day !
some bouts were exciting while some were entertaining LOL =X
it's quite an experience for most i guess. everyone will be attempting to apply the techniques they've picked up over the past couple of days in the actual tournament sparring, with a coach to guide you along as well
ohhh, and yeah, the nights were really amusing xD

a day of extreme makeover for council, mass clean up, discarding of all unwanted things and reorganizing the furniture of the rooms
everyone was cleaning up council room and welfare room while zhao bo, elson and i spent like the entire afternoon and evening cleaning up the secret GEM tunnel...
thanks alot elson and everyone else for helping us every now and then =D
took photos of the room before but i don't feel like posting them up here haha, it's kinda horrifying =/
anyway everything looks much much much nicer now ! =D
oh oh and today i experienced a day of jiaying's life of killing cockroaches...
picture this, there's a pile of green rope on the floor and then you see something black moving below it, running right across the opening
zomg it's a cockroach !
we grab the shieldtox and wow how useful it is...
instead of one, it kage bunshin-ed and four cockroaches appeared ! arghhh
so began the fight with the four baby cockroaches... oh my, how exciting ! -___-
after a number of accurate and powerful blasts of shieldtox, they finally flipped and their legs stopped moving in the air
just when we thought that's the end of the pest infestation in the tunnel, the two parent cockroaches appeared !
equipped with greater evasive abilities and higher speeds they rushed towards us seeking revenge for their poor babies
fortunately we manage to own the sadded couple when they were attempting to run up the door frame in an attempt to get out of the room. yup...
bye cockroach family !

oh and not to forget all the "refined" language in the midst of all the fun.
so glad that i'm finally back home and lying on my comfy bed right now

Touch Young Arrows BBQ, East Coast Park
out of all these photos, there's only one showing the bbq

bbq had to be cut short cos of the rain =[
arghhh lousy weather, raining when it isn't suppose to
boooo rain, you came at the wrong time today...
anyway back to the HC Band part,
Capriccio XXIV was fantastic, especially the last few songs
the front was nice too with phantom of the opera and shan hu hai
the super mario theme song was too short though D=
super mario didn't enter the dungeon !
the dance by the horn and trumpet players in the last song was entertaining
elson i bet you were most awake at that point of time right?! LOL
