tkd informal training ! sparring ! yay !
haha i am soooo looking forward to more sparring

hmm here's my reflection of today's sparring, similar to felix's, think its gonna be noobier than his though

Round 1: Marcus (senior)

seemed like both of us were afraid of each other haha
well, he's quite big, and so am i. so of cos we won't go chionging directly at each other without some thought, unless you're like prepared to get zhammed back or being really confident of owning the other with the kicks you're gonna execute. only whacked each other a few times, not really very tiring haha. paid quite alot of attention to footing and stances cos he's obviously more experienced at sparring than me so i had to watch more carefully. not a bad experience =]

Round 2: Yongji

mixed sparring. guys gotta learn to control and hold back while girls gotta learn to tank
yongji's quite good actually. strong kicks and good guard. some girls are always leaving themselves wide open, easy to land kicks on them cos they do not guard. however, this isn't really a girls' thing only, some of the guys are also like that haha. she watches my movement quite well also, always prepared to block.
but i didn't really dare to zham hard =/ so i decided to do more blocking again, but i managed to do the double turning once ! yay xD

Round 3: Felix

more of turning around a fixed point cos felix kept going round in circles haha
we did whack each other though, got a couple of rather painful knocks while sparring against him. like the one near the ball of my left foot. ouch. wasn't really a fair match actually, considering our builts and strength =/

hmm anyway, besides these matches, there's another thing i would like to mention.
its about this guy whom i really have strong opinions about.
he's none other thannnnn the pretty much useless guy who doesn't dare to go against stronger opponents but chooses to spar with other guys and especially girls who do not have as much strength as him.
quite a long title for him, so its pretty much who this guy is haha.

firstly, he freaking makes irritating sounds for no reason at all during kicking practice. everyone gets pissed off by him. even guys with a much greater tolerance for bullshit, run out of patience listening to his sounds and totally stupid comments that do not go through his brain at all. oh wait, does he even have one? he loves to make comments about other people's kicks, trying hard to correct them when he can't freaking kick it properly himself. please, get it right yourself before trying to correct others. so yar, he doesn't even realize the fact that we're unhappy with that and really wish he would stop. some just keep quiet and tolerate while some of us did voice it out, but it seems like our words just go in from one side of his head and outta the other immediately.

next, honestly speaking, he's really weak for someone of his built. his kicks during practice are really fei. i think even a new-comer can kick harder than him. loserrrr. plus, he can't withstand our kicks. letting him hold the target will just result in lots of complain about how painful it is and how we shouldn't use that much strength. oh yar, and the stupid comments which i've mentioned earlier. we do kick that hard everytime cos we want to train up and improve, and when he's our target holder, it makes me wanna kick even harder if possible. haha. i sound evil =X

and now to the most important point about this guy. he is really really really freakingly humji.
he fought with the j3s before and all he did was to run away from them and making them feel .....
he doesn't even dare to face up to them. plus, he'll complain and complain, a whole lot of crap before that. hmm he had to spar against someone who has a significantly greater amount of experience as compared to him. all he did was freaking act like he got injured really badly like 20 seconds after the match started. please, you aren't from drama, your acting sucks. we all saw where the kick landed and all he did was to fake like it was really painful and he can no longer continue the fight. his opponent landed a kick and he lagged for a while before going "owwwwww very pain". what the hell... hey, just admit that you're afraid of your opponent. and he miraculously recovered from that extremely painful kick to your face right after the seniors decided to move onto the next match. ohhhh and why was that so?

when it came to mixed sparring, he was sparring against a girl who's much lighter in weight as compared to him. he was perfectly ok and did not appear to be suffering from the pain from the previous kick anymore. he pushed her down and kept punching her only, couldn't even land proper kicks on her. retarded punches with retard actions which he probably felt made him look damn cool when it actually made him seem more loser to us. his opponent was doing really well though, a number of good kicks, especially the one to his groin haha. jiayou ! own him the next time round he decides to spar against you again. the girls also think of him as a sissy now haha. great job.

hmm so some things i've noticed about myself during sparring
i keep pulling my leg back once i hit the opponent's guard, not pushing through all the way like how we usually do while kicking the big target. hit and instantly shifting it back down. maybe its cos of the impact that sorta makes me do that =/
pushing through is rather important actually, possible to get the opponent to move to the position which is advantageous for you to follow up with more kicks. besides that, you can stun your opponents briefly and probably cause them to lose their balance. yup.

domination isn't that easy. doesn't take much to say that it's always important to dominate your opponent to gain an upper hand and do not get dominated instead, however, its much easier said than done. may be due to the fact that we're quite inexperienced at sparring, we do not really attack and show that i am stronger and you are getting dominated. yushu explained it a couple of times and we're always answering that we understand the concept of dominating but we're gonna need alot more practice. haha.
now its more of knowing how good or bad everyone else is, cos we train together every time, so we're roughly able to gauge ourselves against our opponents and fight accordingly.

yup, that's about all for today's tkd training.
and i guess its probably not making much sense to you haha
